A better way to procure R&D tax relief support.
Tenderfy was created for UK companies that need credible R&D tax support without aggressive sales emails, opaque pricing or unvetted R&D tax specialists. We bring structure and transparency to how companies choose specialists.
R&D tax relief is too important to choose a specialist by chance.
For many companies, R&D tax relief is a valuable annual claim. It is also a technical tax position that must be supported by clear evidence, credible project descriptions and a sound understanding of HMRC expectations.
At the same time, the market for R&D tax support can be difficult to assess. Fees vary, specialist quality varies and many companies are approached repeatedly by firms they have not chosen to speak to.
Tenderfy exists to make that decision more structured. Claimants can set out what they need, compare a controlled number of relevant proposals and appoint a specialist with greater confidence.
Claimants create one confidential R&D tax brief and receive a focused shortlist instead of repeated sales approaches.
Specialists are checked for background, AML supervision, professional standing and R&D tax suitability before seeing tenders.
Claimants compare expertise, evidence approach, fees and delivery process before deciding whether to appoint.
About the Founder.
I entered the R&D tax industry during an internship in 2017 and quickly developed an appreciation for how R&D tax relief helps innovative UK businesses invest in research, technology and product development. This introduction became a long-term career supporting companies undertaking genuine R&D.
From 2020, I worked at one of the UK’s largest specialist R&D tax consultancies, supporting businesses from start-ups and owner-managed SMEs to FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 organisations. I have since been involved in more than 800 R&D tax claims and client engagements across a broad range of industries, technologies and claim sizes.
Despite this variety, the same challenge repeatedly arose. Whether a multinational was running a formal procurement process or a smaller business was selecting its first adviser, companies struggled to determine which R&D specialist was the right fit.
Businesses spent considerable time researching firms, attending meetings and comparing differently structured proposals. Fees varied, technical capabilities were difficult to assess and there was no consistent basis for comparison. Price was rarely the only consideration. Companies wanted an adviser who understood their technology, sector, commercial objectives and compliance requirements.
This challenge intensified as HMRC increased its scrutiny of claim quality, technical evidence and compliance. Publicised examples of poor advice and inappropriate claims also reduced market confidence, prompting businesses to review adviser relationships, seek second opinions and run competitive tenders.
I also saw the issue from the adviser’s perspective. Many highly capable specialists struggled to differentiate themselves, with new business often driven by marketing budgets, referrals and visibility rather than expertise and suitability. Strong advisers were investing significant time and money to reach businesses already seeking specialist support.
Tenderfy grew from seeing this procurement problem repeated hundreds of times. Businesses wanted a structured way to compare advisers, while advisers wanted to compete on expertise rather than advertising.
That became the foundation of Tenderfy.
Tenderfy brings structure, transparency and consistency to the procurement of R&D tax advisory services. Companies can create a structured tender setting out their technical, commercial and engagement requirements. Verified specialists receive opportunities aligned with their expertise, enabling businesses to compare proposals consistently and make an informed appointment.
One principle has guided Tenderfy from the beginning:
There is no single “best” R&D tax adviser. There is a best adviser for each business, project and set of requirements.
Our mission is simple. To help UK businesses appoint the right R&D tax adviser through a transparent, structured and trusted procurement process, while giving high-quality specialists the opportunity to grow by demonstrating their expertise rather than simply competing for attention.

Our principles.
R&D tax relief is a high-stakes area under greater scrutiny. These principles guide how Tenderfy grows the marketplace.
Specificity over slogans.
Clear numbers, clear steps and clear terms. We would rather explain exactly how the process works than make broad claims about trust.
Vetting before volume.
A marketplace is only as strong as the quality of its participants. We prioritise vetting and suitability before network size.
Confidentiality by design.
Claimants should be able to explore specialist options without immediately entering a sales cycle. Anonymity before award is central to the process.
Aligned incentives.
Claimants pay for a controlled tender process. Specialists pay only when they win and complete an engagement.
Plain English.
R&D tax is technical. The explanation does not have to be. We aim to make the process understandable without oversimplifying the tax position.
Trust must be earned.
Credibility is built through evidence, transparent behaviour and consistent delivery, not broad claims of trust.
